This series consists of Ala. county records which were created by the Ala. Rural Electrification Authority to determine which parts of each county were in need of electricity. The records which are divided into communities include: incoming letters; correspondence of Chairman Gordon Persons; engineering blueprints; maps; and publications. Most of this series consists of incoming letters from Ala. citizens which describe the need for electricity and ask for electricity to be wired to their home or community. Many of the county files contain maps with marks detailing each house or store in a community. These records document the history of most Ala. counties and the establishment of electricity in Ala.
